Ammon Z. Bashore, 82, of Bethel died May 24th at 8:45 p.m. in Good Samaritan Hospital, Lebanon. He is the husband of Stella M. (Caplinger) Bashore. The were married 61 years. He was born in Rehrersburg, the son of the late Harvey and Laura (Ziegler) Bashore. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a self-employed plumbing and heating contractor for 25 years, and later worked for Tulpehocken School District as a grounds and transportation supervisor for 10 years. He was a member of Little Swatara Church of the Brethren. He was a member and past chief of the Bethel Fire Co.; a member of the American Legion Post 991, Bethel; a member of the Williamson Lodge No. 307, Womelsdorf; and a past member and volunteer with the Bethel Ambulance Association. In addition to his wife he is survived by four sons, Gilbert L. Bashore, Bethel, Dale A. Bashore, Hershey, Raymond L. Bashore, Bethel, and Michael A. Bashore, Myerstown; three brothers, Rufus Bashore, Bernville, Alvin Bashore, Hershey, and Harvey Bashore Jr., Lancaster; sister Miriam Hain, Myerstown. He is also survived by six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. He is predeceased by sister, Betty Brubaker. Services will be held Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. from Little Swatara Church of the Brethren, 31 Rehrersburg Road, Box M., Bethel, PA 19507. Interment at Little Swatara Church Cemetery. Friends may call Tuesday 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church. Hill Funeral Home, Rehrersburg, is handling arrangements.
