Roberta Louise Pfeifer, 86, Harrisonville, MO, died Saturday, January 15, 2011 at Research Medical Center in Kansas City, MO. Services 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, January 18, 2011 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Harrisonville with visitation from 9:15-10:00 a.m. at the church. (Cremation to follow). Private family burial in Freeman Cemetery, Freeman, MO, at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the church building fund. Roberta was born October 7, 1924 in Hudson, Iowa, to Samuel R. and Sara M. (Hornbeck) Silvers. She attended Northeast High School in Kansas City. She was united in marriage to Alfred A. Pfeifer on December 31, 1941. Roberta's calling was motherhood and she never tired of caring for babies, even her great-grandchildren. She was a hard worker, helping her husband operate their farm and working in food service for local school districts and Cass County Memorial Hospital. She enjoyed cooking, music and sewing. She was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Harrisonville, MO. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Robert Lee Silvers, her husband, Alfred on March 12, 2004 and a son, Robert E. Pfeifer on March 9, 1996. She is survived by one son, Fred Pfeifer and wife, Jan of Overland Park, KS; three daughters, Sandra Mitchell and husband, Howard of Overland Park, KS, Shirley Harvey and husband, Roy of Garden City, MO and Lori Bishop of Harrisonville, MO; one brother, Eugene R. Silvers of Raymore, MO; 9 grandchildren, Julie Gainer, Mark Mitchell, Randy Jones, Shelley Jones, Michael Pfeifer, Tricia Chitwood, Danny Pfeifer, Becky Pfeifer and Brooke Bishop; 17 great-grandchildren; 6 great- great-grandchildren and many close friends, including LaVaughn Hotchkin and Martha Scott.
