The funeral of Marshall Perry, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Perry, former citizens of Rockdale, was held in this city Monday morning from the residence of E.B. Phillips. Mr. Perry met his death at Galveston Saturday night from stab wounds in the breast, and subsequently the Galveston police made an arrest on charge of murder. Decedent was born and reared in Rockdale and was about 30 years of age. He was a citizen of Houston at the time of his death, where he occupied a clerical position with the Texas Company. Marshall M. Perry of Houston, fatally stabbed at Galveston on Saturday night was buried Monday at Rockdale, his birthplace, his mother and Richard Perry, a brother accompanied the body there. He was employed by the Texas Company in a clerical position and on Christmas Day went to Galveston where he had friends. About 9 p.m. Saturday night, he appeared at John Sealy Hospital with knife wounds in the chest and before midnight, he died. At first it was thought the wounds were superficial.
