Mrs. John Best, a resident of Atchison County most of her life, died on her 64th birthday anniversary Friday as the result of a stroke of apoplexy.
A daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Noffsinger, Atchison County pioneers, Clara Noffsinger was born June 16, 1875, on the family farm, four miles southwest of Effingham. The locality of the farm is known as the Noffsinger community.
December 21, 1891, she was united in marriage to John Best. The couple went to housekeeping on the farm of his father, A. S. Best, one mile south of Monrovia.
Surviving beside her husband are three daughters, Mrs. John Snyder, Monrovia; Mrs. Webb Groff, Nortonville, and Mrs. Hazel Kaufman, Kansas City; four grandchildren, Nancy Groff, Orren, John and Helen Marie Snyder.
