US Congressman. Elected to represent New Hampshire's 1st District in the United States House of Representatives, serving from 1965 to 1967. He was defeated as a Democrat in 1966. Also served as Mayor of Laconia, New Hampshire, 1959-1963, and as a Delegate to the Democratic National Convention from New Hampshire in 1972.
