Hanson Viers Love was the son of Hanson Viers Love Sr. and Polly Carson. He was born in Franklin Co. IN. He married Nancy Pease (d/o Havey Pease and Tirzah Reid) in Jennings Co. IN on December 8, 1847. Hanson drafted into the army (for the Civil War) 1865 at Columbus, IN. Records show that he was 5'9 1/2" dark complexion, grey eyes, dark hair and a farmer. He mustered out in Golsboro, NC, Sept. 1865. He and Nancy had 12 children: Elias Morgan, John Wesley, William Presley, Harvey Pease, Israel Newton, Parsa, Henry Albert, Eliza Ellen, Mary, Ansel Reid, James Lincoln and some sources say the 12th child was a baby named William who died young. Hanson died at his son's house (that was Henry Albert). His oldest son was Rev. Elias Morgan Love, preacher for the Church of God in Worthington, IN.
