Joyce Ellen Gray was born July 27, 1945, in Enid, Oklahoma, to John Leland and Virginia Lee (Owens) Moncrief. She departed this life Thursday, December 23, 2010, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, at the age of 65 years, 4 months, and 26 days. Joyce grew up in and attended school in the Enid area. On May 26, 1962, in Enid, Oklahoma, Joyce Ellen Moncrief and Clarence Leon Washburn were united in marriage. The family moved to and made Locust Grove their home in 1969. Clarence preceded his wife in death in 1979. Joyce enjoyed needle work and had been an employee of Georgia Pacific for over 20 years. On October 31, 1994, Joyce and Harris Gray were married in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. Joyce loved to fish with her husband. She was an avid O.U. Sooner football fan. She enjoyed the music of the 1950s and 1960s. Joyce, above all, treasured time spent with her family and taking care of her grandchildren. Her family and friends will miss her dearly. Joyce is survived by: her husband: Harris, of the home; 2 daughters: Pam Elliott and husband Chris of Locust Grove, Oklahoma and Cyndi Washburn of Locust Grove, Oklahoma; 2 step-sons: Willie Gray and fiancé` Shelley Prather of Ketchum, Oklahoma and Ronnie Gray and wife Kelli of Ketchum, Oklahoma; 1 step-daughter: Patti West and husband of Shawnee, Oklahoma; 1 sister: Carole Spencer and husband Keith of Brownsville, Texas; 1 niece: Patti Davis of Olathe, Kansas; 1 nephew: John Spencer of Cedar Falls, Iowa; 10 grandchildren: Jennifer Elliott, Misti Mapp and fiancé` Jeremy Williams, Krystina Anderson and husband Dace, Ashley Elliott and fiancé` Austin Adkisson, and Christopher Elliott, all of Locust Grove, Oklahoma, Mercedes Gray, Skyler Gray, Savannah Gray, Alexa Gray, and Olivia Gray, all of Ketchum, Oklahoma; 2 great grandchildren: Colten Lee Williams and Reesie Elliott, and one on the way; best friends: Glenda Gray of Ketchum, Oklahoma and Lorene Gay of Adair, Oklahoma. Joyce was preceded in death by her parents and her first husband. Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M., Monday, December 27, 2010, at the Smith Chapel Free Will Baptist Church near Rose, Oklahoma. Reverend Doug Parker will officiate. Interment will follow at Hogan Cemetery in Locust Grove, Oklahoma. Services have been entrusted to the Locust Grove Funeral Home.
