Porter (Popeye) Lee Barnes, age 88, of Symsonia, KY, died Friday, August 10, 2012, at residence in Symsonia, KY. He was a WW II Navy Veteran, a lifetime member of the Plumbers & Steamfitters Local # 184 where he served 60 years and retired as a pipefitter for Pip Johnson Construction.
He was the son of the late Walter Lee Barnes and the late Vizella (Baker) Barnes. He was also preceded in death by his wife Mary Louise (Pember) Barnes Sister Audrey (Barnes) Watkins and Brother, Hollie Barnes.
He is survived by his Daughter, Lea Peyton & Husband Mark of Paducah, KY. and one grandchild Michael Lee Peyton of Paducah, KY.
Arrangements are being handled by Collier Funeral Home, Benton, KY where the family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, Monday, August 13, 2012.Graveside services will be at Symsonia Cemetery, Symsonia, KY at 12:00PM Monday August 13, 2012.
