Mr. Fitts was a retired Trooper for the Texas Department of Public Safety, following 27 years of service. He married Wanda F. Eakin on February 28, 1952 and had been a resident of Lufkin since 1967. He served in the U.S. Navy, and was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
Survivors: wife of 46 years, Wanda Fitts of Lufkin; daughter and son-in-law, Suzanne and Bill Barrett of Lufkin; granddaughters, Kelly and Christie Barrett of Lufkin; brothers, Jerry Fitts of Kirbyville and Waymond Fitts of Seguin; sister, Billie Allen of Timpson; and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
