Barry Keith Cordray, 40, of Cypress, TX was called to the Lord on January 1, 2011 in Brenham, Texas. Barry was born in Beaumont, January 11, 1970 to Susan and Barry Joe Cordray; growing up in Beaumont, Houston, and then moving to Brenham in 1983, where he attended and graduated from Brenham High School in 1988. Barry was a journeyman electrician with Summit Electric for several years until his career path lad him to Akzo Nobel Coatings Company working in sales and technical support. Most recently, Barry was the Regional Technical Supervisor, traveling extensively, providing technical training and process evaluation to Akzo's customers and employees. Barry had many interests; including, fishing, traveling, and spending time working on various automotive and mechanical projects at his family's shop in Brenham. Barry was a life-long racing enthusiast. Barry was the crew chief for Cordray Racing, with brother Richard Cordray as the driver, from 1995 – 2005. Barry is survived by his wife, Sheila Grimm Cordray; parents Susan Lewis Cordray and Barry Joe Cordray; brother Richard Eric Cordray, sister-in-law Shannon Frazier Cordray, nephew and niece Truman and Kirby Cordray. He is also survived by aunts and uncles, Judy and Hugh Shaver, Bob Lewis, Carol and Tom Lewis, Bobbie and David Cordray, Kathy and Richard "Dickie" Cordray and his many first and second cousins, Kristen Denson, Ginger Lewis, Cj Lewis, Jill Cordray Callaway, Jennifer Cordray Gregory, Karen Langford, Monteigne Cordray Staats, Alexandria Gregory, Cassie Corday, Coy Cordray, and Kelly Cordray. Preceded in death by cousin Kyle Denson, grandparents T. Raymond and Nellie "Sissy" Lewis, Jenna V. and Truman Cordray, and stepmother Carolyn Shumate. Services to be held at Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 W. Main St., Brenham, Texas as follows: Visitation Tuesday, January 4, 6:00-8:00 PM and funeral Wednesday, January 5, 10:00 AM, internment immediate following.
