Elizabeth "Bessie" Alden was born in January 1867 to Andrew Jackson & Beady Elizabeth Alden. Bessie Alden married Harry J. Reynolds who was a railroad engineer. Bessie Reynolds was a talented and wonderful watercolorist and a truly dear person. The latter part of her life she lived with her nephew (my grandfather) Dr. John Alden Harrison in Rockford, Illinois. She passed away peacefully in 1952. She is buried by her husband in Waterloo, Iowa at the Fairview Cemetery. Her older sister Martha Alden is buried there as well. That's me (the baby) in the photo with my Aunt Bess and my grandfather, Dr. John Alden Harrison in Rockton, Illinois in September of 1949!
