Elmer received his education locally and was a logger for Midwest Oak and Tie and Kendrick Forest Products for many years.
On May 7, 1946, he was united in marriage with Lorraine Martin at the Colesburg United Methodist Church. Elmer enjoyed cards, dominoes, spirits, dancing, and logging with his two favorite horses, Timmy and Badly.
Survivors include, two daughters, Marian Connolly of Cascade, and Nancy (Jim) Cornwell of Greeley; one son, Tom (LuAnn) Bolsinger of Colesburg; two sisters, Blanche Staebler of Colesburg, and Helen Cornwell of Greeley; eight grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren ; and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, son-in-law, Stanley Connolly, one grandson-in-law, Steve Bailey, three brothers, Clarence, Glen, and Bill, six sisters, Lou Robins, Florence Davis, Elizabeth Horstman, Gladys Cole, Addie Radabaugh, and Irene Hansel.
