Beatrice J. Coon, 93, former Selma resident, died Tuesday in Ball Memorial Hospital after a brief illness.
Mrs. Coon, who was born in Monroe, lived most of her life in Delaware County. She was a homemaker and attended Eden United Church of Christ and Yorktown Christian Church. She was a member of Parker City Eastern Star for more than 50 years.
Survivors include six children, Martha J. Claspell (husband: Charles), Yorktown, Richard C. Coon (wife: Barbara) and Carolyn J. Shively, both of Muncie, Gary L. Coon (wife: Bonnie), Selma, Janice Park (husband: Robert), Gulf Breeze, Fla., and Janet Goen (husband: Gerald), Tarpon Springs, Fla.; 16 grandchildren, and 17 great-grandchildren.
Her husband, Charles S. Coon, died in 1971; a son, Phillip E. Coon; two sisters; two grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren also are deceased.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Meeks Mortuary. Burial will be in Elm Ridge Cemetery. Calling will be 3 to 8 p.m. Friday and before services Saturday at the mortuary.
