Visitation is from 9:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday and Wednesday at Prairie Rose Funeral Home in Harper.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, January 6, 2011 at the Prairie Rose Funeral Home Chapel in Harper, with V. Bruce Smith officiating.
Interment will be held at the Harper Cemetery.

On the evening of January 1, 2011, Edna May Barnes was called to her home in heaven at the age of 81 years and nine months. Edna May was born March 28, 1929 in Harper, Kansas to Harold U. and Lily May (Trollope)Fox. She attended all her school years in Harper.
On July 19, 1948, at the age of 19, she married Walter Duane Barnes and they continued to make their home in Harper. She worked for Percy Nelson, Mutual Studios, doing tint work for his photography. On December 18, 1958, an infant little girl, Cynthia Lynn, came to their home. What a wonderful Christmas this was for Edna May and Walt. She was their pride and joy.
After Cindy's arrival, Edna was a full time mom and homemaker. As Cindy grew to a young lady, Edna started working outside the home. She was employed at the Harper Hospital as a nurse aide, worked at Mode-O-Day, Fox Variety, Harper Camperland, and was a baby sitter for many young families in Harper. She also loved working in her yard with her flowers. She was baptized into the Cross Point Christian Church in Harper, Kansas.
She kept herself busy with all her activities of making ceramics, crocheting, quilting, canvas needle point, and embroidering. A few weeks ago, she had started crocheting again, working on an afghan.
She is preceded in death by her husband Walt; her parents, Harold and Lily; sisters, Bessie Berberich, Mary Jean Johnson; brothers, Harold Jr., and WJ.
She is survived by her daughter, Cindy Campbell and husband Clarence, two grand daughters, Valerie and Victoria, all of Pflugerville, Texas; sisters, Naomi Fenton of Harper, Kansas; Carolyn and husband, Bob Hunzicker of Lenexa, Kansas; Virginia Fields of Emporia, Kansas; two sisters in law, Maxine Barnes and Harriett Fox of Harper, Kansas; twenty two nieces and nephews, many great nieces and nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.
