A longtime resident of Waldoboro, she worked at the Button Factory and Gay's Country Store, both in Waldoboro. For several years she worked at Stinson Canning in Rockland until retiring in 1988.
From 1998 to 2002, she resided at Sprowl Block Apartments and more recently at the Knox Center in Rockland.
Pre-deceased by one sister Eleanor Ruth Bisbee in 1927, Mrs. Smith is survived by two sons, Lee L. Smith and his wife Annette of Waldoboro, Dana E. Smith of St. George; three grandchildren, Dana E. Smith, Jr., Simon Smith, Lisa Smith Beal, Kirk Smith as well as several great grandchildren.
