The deceased was born in the town of Deerpark and was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Cornelius Gordon. He had lived at Cuddebackville nearly all his life. For the past few months he had lived at Sparrowbush. He was a veteran of the Civil War, having served in the 56th New York State Volunteer Infantry known as the the "Tenth Legion." He followed the occupation of carpenter and mason.
About 33 years ago he was united in marriage with Josephine Conklin, who survives him with six children, Cornelius Gordon, Mrs. Fred Lesh, of Port Jervis, Mrs. Job Conklin, of Pomona, N.Y., Mrs. Bert Williams, Violet May and Joseph Edward Gordon, of Sparrowbush. He is also survived by two brothers, Stoddard Gordon of Cuddebackville, and Job Gordon, of Brooklyn, N.Y., and two sisters, Mrs. Jane Baker, of Port Jervis, and Miss Myra Gordon, of Washington, D.C.
The funeral will be held in the chapel of the Terwilliger-Woolsey Co., No. 41 Front street, at two o'clock Saturday afternoon. Rev. F. S. Simmons will officiate. The interment will be in Laurel Grove cemetery.
