Ruth Ann Wingebach age 87 of Arma died at 11:15 AM on December 30 at Girard Medical Center after a short illness.

Ruth was born October 29, 1923 in Breezy Hill, Kansas. She was the daughter of William and Armida Ponsi Mannaioni.

She has lived in the same home for 83 years. She graduated from Arma High School in 1941.

She married Bernard C. Wingebach on February 4, 1947 in Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Pittsburg, KS, who preceded her in death in 1993.

She was a homemaker and also worked as a clerk for Woolsworth in Pittsburg, KS, and then later in life as a clerk for Crowell's Drug Store, Pittsburg, KS. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Arma, and served as treasurer for St. Ann's Altar Society from 1996-present, she was also a 61-year member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 182 and served as President of the American Legion Auxiliary from 1998-2000. She was also a member of the Eagles Auxiliary, and a member of 8140 Auxiliary in Pittsburg.

Survivors include one daughter Janice Roller (Husband Tony) of Cape Coral, FL, one son Bernie Wingebach (wife Judy) of Arma, four grandchildren, one great-granddaughter and one step granddaughter, with 4 step great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, one sister Edith Felan, and five brothers Morris Mannaioni, Richard Mannaioni, Thomas Mannaioni, James Mannaioni, and Lebro Mannaioni.

Funeral Mass will be Monday, January 3 at 9:30 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Arma, with Father Lawrence Carney as celebrant. Burial will be in the Pittsburg Garden of Memories. The family will have a rosary at 6:30 PM on Sunday, January 2 with visitation following from 7-8 PM at the Bedene Funeral Home. Friends may visit her at the Bedene Funeral Home any time after 10 AM on January 2.

Ruth requested donations be given to the St. Ann's Altar Society or the American Legion Auxiliary Post 182, and donations also may be left at the Bedene Funeral home, 517 E. Washington, Box 621, Arma, Kansas, 66712.
