Married Electra Minerva Washburn. Mr. Franklin lived near South Chili, Monroe County, New York for a long time. Electra's parents also lived in that area, but by 1834 they had moved to a farm near East Claridon, Ohio. In 1837, Amasa and Electra came to Winnebago County, IL with their son Charles and lived in the log cabin that Charles had built on his claim in Section 36 in Durand township. Amasa never owned land, but resided here until he died. Known children: Samuel; Charles Mortimer; Burton P.; and Benjamin.
