David Baker came to Indiana when he was 11 years old with his parents and 10 brothers and sisters. A family of 13, they were known as the "Baker's Dozen". His father, Andrew Jackson Baker, died two years later and David, at age 13, had most of the responsibility of the large family. David Baker married Mary Leach on April 27, 1867. They had one child, Arthur Milburn Baker. David died on May 19, 1927 and is buried in the Lizton K. of P. Cemetery.
