IN MEMORIAM
The death angel again hath claimed his own, and Jesus has said, "Suffer the little ones to come unto me." The Early Grove community, on the 29th of August, was made to mourn the loss of two of her brightest little boys, Henry Wallace and William Dewey Fite, little sons of Mr. and Mrs. W. R. Fite. They came to their sad and untimely death by drowning in Clear creek, a little stream running near Early Grove. How it happened, possibly no one will ever know.
Little Henry Wallace was born October 11th, 1896, and was five years, ten months and eighteen days old. Little Dewey was born December 16th, 1898, and was three years, eight months and thirteen days old. They were both bright, manly little fellows. They were always seen together playing or riding their ponies, they died together; when found were in four-foot water lying side by side. We placed them in their little caskets and laid them in the same grave, side by side. When the resurrection trump shall awaken their sleeping ashes glorified, they "will arise to meet Christ in the air."
Mr. Fite is one of our best, most substantial citizens, a merchant and farmer at Early Grove. He and his wife are members of the Baptist church and stand as a light and power for God in our community. They have the deepest sympathy of all who know them, and especially of all who knew their sainted children.
