Tom Willis was born on July 28, 1953 in Nankin Township, Michigan as the fourth and youngest child of Chalmer G. Willis and Mary Mormul. He graduated from Garden City East High School in 1971. After graduating high school he worked for a short time at Ford Motor Company. He then became a Electrican. On June 6, 1981 he married Beverly Raezler, also of Garden City, and relocated to Novi. There they raised a son and a daughter. In 1999 the family moved to Wolverine Lake. In 2001 he became a grandpa and again in 2003, 2005, 2007 and 2009.
