Kenneth V. Alexander, 71, of Vidor, Texas, died Thursday, December 23, 2010 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont, Texas.

He was a native of Beaumont, Texas, and was a longtime resident of Vidor.

Kenneth practiced dentistry in Vidor for 35 years. He is a Vidor High School graduate and graduated from Lamar University before going to The University of Texas Dental Branch in Houston, Texas, where he earned his DDS. Kenneth was a member of the Texas Dental Association and the American Dental Association. He was also a Past President of Sabine District Dental Society. He served his country in the US Army Reserve where he retired as a Colonel, he was Commander of the 4005th in Houston, Texas and the 817th in New Orleans, Louisiana. Kenneth was a member of the American Legion Post #112 and the Sons of the Republic of Texas. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Vidor, where he attended the Kings Man Sunday School Class and was a accomplished lifelong singer. He was a member of the Vidor Masonic Lodge #1286 and was a Shriner.

Funeral services were held at First Baptist Church in Vidor, with burial to follow at Jett Cemetery in Orange, Texas.

Kenneth is survived by his wife Norma Jean Alexander, son Kenneth Vaughn Alexander, Jr., daughter Katherine Alexander Nevins and her husband Chris, brother and sister in law Michael and Judy Decker, grandchildren Alexander Nevins, Dalton Nevins, Trippe Nevins, and Elizabeth Nevins.
