I added the story below before making a trip to Camerer Cemetery on Sunday, Sept 9, 2012 for the clear photo. With the new stone picture and clear dates and ages we can now properly add the information for that cute little girl who had such a short life.

--------------------------

Sue Chappel from Indiana did a most thoughtful deed by trying to find relatives connected to a group of old pictures she was given by family members not interested in the genealogy done by her husbands late uncle.

They are treasures and any Edgar County Illinois Conner/Parker decendants should be very grateful to her. She sent them to me in 2011 and I tracked down some and added to Ancestry and findagrave.com but then drifted off to other things and never came back.

In August of 2012 she sent more. This time she included a contact also related to the Conner/Parker bunch. Eloise Dorman's husband, John, is connected to me from both the Conner's and Parker's. Eloise has done a great job figuring out the connection to a stone I had photographed (Jan 2011) in Camerer/Watertown Cemetery, Edgar County Illinois and a cute little girl whose picture was in the group. Eloise's information was taken from an old family bible as she states below.

Thanks to Sue and Eloise,

I must also acknowledge and thank Christina Waltz for permission to use her transcription of Camerer Cemetery she did in 2000. Without this valuable record I could not have submitted the spreadsheet to findagrave of the 77 burials there. She also is connected to that prolific Conner/Parker family.

John Bush, g grandson of Sarah Ann "Sadie" Parker Nickels Thornton

Below is from email message. It is easier to just paste it here for all to see her great logic in making the connection between the picture of a little girl and a stone I uncovered in the cemetery.

From Eloise:

I have information copied in 1974 by Alta Ashley from the family bible of Alice Rebecca (Parker) Conner, wife of Jacob, (held at that time by Gladys (Steele) Conner, widow of of Jacob's son Franklin Liva Conner, who lived in Paris, IL). The Bible listed all of Jacob and Alice's children and shows a daughter Ora Malvina Conner.

As for the worn marker, that has to be the little daughter of Jacob and Alice.. Since I was reading hand-written information (not written in a well-formed Palmer script) copied from handwritten information, I agree - the name must have been Ova - and the dates, written a good 100 years prior to when they were read and copied from the Bible, may have been faded or confused on the copying. I think what the stone says is likely correct.
