James Douglas West, 55, of Louisa, died Sunday, May 26, at Three Rivers Medical Center. Mr. West was born November 21, 1940, in Lawrence County, a son of North and Sarah Lester West of Louisa. He was a retired truck driver and former chief deputy sheriff of Lawrence County under Hoover Workman, honorary deputy under Bobby Workman and a Kentucky Colonel. The funeral will be conducted Wednesday, May 29(today) at 2 p.m. at Wilson Funeral Home by the Rev. Bobby Workman and Rev. Edwin Harper. Burial will be in Yatesville Memorial Gardens. Additional survivors include a daughter, Crystal West of Louisa; two sons, James "Mike" West and John West, both of Louisa; two sisters, Clarice Ann Burgess of Chesapeake, Ohio and Barbara Sue Pack of Jacksonville, Florida; six brothers, Wayne West, Freddie West, Larry West, Noah West and Morton West, all of Louisa and Randall West of London, Ohio; five grandchildren, Brandon West, Michael West, Alicia West, Michelle West and Johnna West. Wilson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
