Graveside service will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, at Lakeview Memorial Park, with the Pastor Jerry Strader officiating.
Mrs. Ashburn was born in Hamptonville, NC, February 3, 1936, to the late Otho Lonzo Brown and Lois Mabel Brown. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Mr. Robert Lincoln Ashburn.
Mrs. Ashburn was of the Christian Faith. She retired from AT&T Systems as a switchboard operator. She was an animal lover. Betty enjoyed her blue birds especially around the house. She made sure they were taken care of and they had a special place in her heart. She was a loving mother and grandmother. She will be dearly missed.
Mrs. Ashburn is survived by two sons, Scott Ashburn of Greensboro, NC and Robert "Bob" Ashburn wife Mariana of Greensboro; two sisters Texie Owens of Burlington, Zolabelle "Jo" Davis of Salisbury; two brothers Aaron Brown of Lynn Haven, Fl and Lonzo Brown of Baltimore, MD; and two grandchildren Cameron Ashburn and Melanie Ashburn.
The family will receive friends Wednesday June 28, 2006 from 7 to 9 pm at Lambeth-Troxler Funeral Service.
