Sarah E. "Sallie" Hodge, b. 7 Dec 1871 in Manchaca, Travis County, Texas, was the 4th child of John McClellan Hodge. We are not exactly sure as to her mother, as some family members believe John McClellan Hodge had a brief marriage between the time his first wife, Elizabeth Jane (Renick) Hodge died and when he married Martha Hogwood in 1876.
Sallie married Walter M. Hipp 3 Oct 1888 in Travis County, Texas. In the summer of 1900 they were living in Laredo, Webb County, Texas, according to the Federal census. They lived in Mexico City from 1905 through 1912, then moved to San Antonio where they lived the rest of their lives.
