Hans Nissen Jorgensen was born April 5, 1919, in Coulter, Iowa, son of Andrew and Martha(Britton)Jorgensen. He graduated from Medford High School, Taylor County, Wis., in 1936. He worked with his father on their dairy farm and as a carpenter. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1940-1945. He married Audra Orr on March 2, 1944, in Chicopee, Mass. They farmed in Colorado and moved to a farm near Ceylon in 1948. He retired in 1984. He became a resident of the Lutz Wing, Fairmont Community Hospital, in 1994.
He was a member of United Methodist Church, Ceylon Nassen-Detert American Legion Post No. 529, Ceylon and Martin County Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 1222, Fairmont.
Survivors include: wife, Audra, daughter Beverly Kruschke and husband, Delwin, of Anoka; two grandsons; brothers, Raymond Jorgensen and wife, Rosie, of Williams, Iowa, William Jorgensen and wife Helen, of Sheffield, Iowa and Norman Jorgensen and wife Emma, of Withee, Wis; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.
