CAMERON RESIDENT IS CALLED AWAY - MRS. F.E. MOTZKUS DIES AFTER ILLNESS DATING TO LAST SPRING
Mrs. F.E. Motzkus, one of Cameron's highly respected residents, departed this life last Thursday morning at her home in the village after an illness which dates back virtually to the time of her husband's sudden death last spring over which she grieved ever since. The immediate cause of death was arterio sclerosis. She was a woman beloved of all those with whom she came into intimate contact, and especially does her demise come hard for the large family of children grown up under her tender love and care.
Emily Mary Keiloweit was born near Insterberg, Germany, March 23, 1863, and was therefore 54 years and five months of age at the time of death. She came to America in October 1884, and on the 27th of the same month she was united in marriage with Rev. F.E. Motzkus. They came west and lived for thirteen years in eastern Michigan and in 1898, came to Dundee, Wis., where they resided until they moved to Cameron in 1911, where she has since resided.
Mrs. Motzkus was the mother of twelve children, all of whom are still living: Rev. F.E. Motzkus of Hastings, Neb.; Rev. Walter Motzkus of Cameron; Ewald, whose address is unknown; Mrs. H. Hoffman of Milwaukee; Herbert, member of a Milwaukee military company; and the following at home - Hilda, Lydia, Gertrude, Irene, Werner who will go away to college, Theodore and Erwin.
The funeral was held Sunday with services conducted by Rev. Martin and Rev. Henry Nitz. The interment was in Wayside Cemetery, Barron beside her husband.
Time may heal and sympathy may assuage the grief of the sorrowing children, but the family circle that has been broken can never be mended. Mrs. Motzkus, however, died in the faith of a good Christian whose duty in this world has been well done, and whose memory will be ever cherished by dear ones and friends.
