Claudine Burkhalter, age 83, of Tuscaloosa, formerly of Gordo, died Dec. 2, 2010, at Northport Medical Center-DCH. Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 5, 2010, at Shiloh Free Will Baptist Church with Rev. Randy Key officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing.

Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. The body will lie in state one hour prior to services at the church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Luther, Floyd, Johnny, Gilbert, and Albert Burkhalter; and her sisters, Lilly B. Miller, Minnie Lou Peeks, and Clara Mae Hayes.

Survivors include her brothers, Marlin Burkhalter (Gerry) of Gordo, Ala., Raymond Burkhalter of Tuscaloosa, Ala., and Wilford Burkhalter of Northport, Ala.; and many nieces and nephews.

Ms. Burkhalter was born March 7, 1927, in Gordo, Alabama to the late John Nick Burkhalter and Emily Letetia Latham Burkhalter. She was a member of Shiloh Free Will Baptist Church and a retired employee of Westinghouse with 30 years of service.
