Mary Theresa Blum, 78, of Heritage Manor, 4885 Asbury Road, formerly of 882 Cleveland St., died Sunday, Jan. 28, 2007, at Heritage Manor.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Siegert-Casper Colonial Funeral home, 390 N. Grandview Ave., with burial in Linwood Cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. today and after 9:30 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

She was born on Feb. 25, 1928, in Long Island, N. Y., daughter of William and Helen (O'Biern) Murphy. She married Rexford A. Blum on Dec. 9, 1944, in New York.

She worked at Dubuque Stamp and also volunteered at Mercy Hospital in the greenhouse, and on the floor for many years.

She loved to garden, fish, and also loved to shop. She cherished her time with her children and grandchildren.

Surviving are her husband, Rexford A. Blum, of Dubuque; three children, Nancy Pope and Michael (Esther) Blum, both of Dubuque, and Carol (special friend Allan) Kelly, of Milwaukee; nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; a brother, Vincent Murphy, of Surprise, N. Y., three brothers-in-law, Stanley (Olga) Blum, of Lake Geneva, Wis., Dale Blum, of Cassville, Wis., and Pete (Janet) Blum, of Beetown, Wis.; and four sisters-in-law, Karen Blum, of Mankato, Minn., Ruth Hunt, of Jackson, Mich., Nellie Curtis, of Hawkins, Wis., and Francis Blum, of North Carolina.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, William Henry Murphy and Frank Murphy; and a sister in infancy.
