Private funeral services will be held at 1pm Tuesday at the Lane Funeral Home Mineral Ridge Chapel for Elizabeth J. Murphy, 75, who died early Friday morning at her residence with her husband by her side after a year long battle with cancer.
She was born March 20, 1935 in Centerville, Delaware a daughter of Samuel D. and Helen (Boothby) Glazier.
She spent her adult life as a homemeaker raising and caring for her family.
She enjoyed fishing, gardening, watching NASCAR, and going to Mountaineer and Wheeling Downs.
She will be sadly missed by her husband of 57 years, Joseph L. Murphy, whom she married October 15, 1953; three sons; Joseph Murphy, Jr. of New Jersey, John (Mary) Murphy of McDonald, and James Murphy of Niles; two daughters; Deborah (Thomas) Chirozzi of Warren and Elizabeth (Gary) Horton of Michigan; two brothers; Robert Glazier of Delaware and Richard Glazier of Oklahoma; two sisters; Jean Williamson of Clearwater, FL and Phyllis Epp of Branson, MO; eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Wiliam Glazier and Edward Kope; and a sister, Janis.
