Elaine Mae Borgen, 87, of Grand Forks, ND, passed away on October 18, 2010 at Valley Memorial Home Woodside Village.

Elaine M. Seim was born March 6, 1923 in Grand Forks, the daughter of John and Ida Seim. Elaine grew up in Grand Forks and graduated from Central High School. She later graduated from Deaconess School of Nursing. She married Donald G. Borgen on August 3, 1946. Elaine worked as assistant director of Nursing at Deaconess Hospital, Which later became United Hospital and Altru Health System, until her retirement. Elaine was an active member of the Deaconess Alumni Association, a longtime member of the Eastern Star and United Lutheran Church in Grand Forks.

Survivors include her son, Donald J. Borgen (Sharon), Grand Forks; grandson, Jonathan Borgen, Grand Forks; granddaughter, Kimberly Dietrich (Wayne), East Grand Forks, MN and three great grandchildren, Emma, Jenna and Maggie Dietrich of East Grand Forks, MN. She is also survived by close friends Kenneth and Frances Hall and a special cousin, Grace Christopher, all of Grand Forks.

Elaine was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Donald G, and her daughter, Barbara Ann.
