Second Lt. Ray Wallace Allen, 27, of Girard died in June of 1944 while on a mission in Europe during World War II.
Survivors a brother, Russell Allen of Springfield, three sisters, Dorothy Wright of Waco, KY., Roberta Miller of Springfield and Thelma Harney of Ocala, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside service 1 p.m. Saturday, Girard Cemetery. Burial Girard Cemetery.
Berry Funeral Home in Girard is in charge of arrangements.

HE WAS BURIED 1-21-1995 AFTER BEING POSITIVELY IDENTIFIED BY DNA. HE DIED IN CZECHOSLOVAKIA WHEN HIS PLANE WAS SHOT DOWN DURING WWII.
