Ransom P. was a physician. A native of Georgia, he was a graduate of Transylvania College, of Kentucky, and practiced in Alabama and Northern Louisiana until he retired and moved to Texas in 1858, living in Jasper County until his death in 1864, at the age of fifty-two. Sarah Elizabeth Wallace, the maiden name of the mother, was born in Virginia, and died March 31, 1901, at the age of eighty-two.
