Betty Lee Lomeli
February 3, 1935 - November 9, 2010.

Betty Lee (Tanksley) Lomeli of Bakersfield, CA passed away November 09, 2010; after battling stomach problems for nine months. Her final days were spent surrounded by family and friends that loved her. Betty was born in Shafter, CA on February 03, 1935 to Clarence and Laura Tanksley. Betty enjoyed going on vacations trips, shopping, shopping, and did we mention she loved shopping a lot. She also loved spending time with her family and friends. She touched the hearts of everyone she came into contact with. She had a big heart and a warm smile. Betty was a wonderful wife, mother, aunt, and grandmother.

Betty is survived by her husband Kiki of 39 years who was also her best friend. She is survived by her three children daughter, Linda Tigner, husband Bill Tigner; daughter, Mary Smith, husband Reggie Smith; son, Edward Tietjen, wife Patricia Tietjen; many grandchildren and two great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Connie Neuman and many nieces. Kiki and Betty, these two were an inseparable pair and never apart. Betty on the other hand, was Kiki's heart and soul. He took care of her never left her side until she breathed her last breath. Kiki not only took pride in his care-giving, but he truly relished and cherished every moment with her. His love for her was infinite and without a doubt truly sincere. We are fortunate to have known such a loving couple. May you now rest in peace and God be with you always. Betty was preceded in death by her mother, father, son Donnie Tietjen, and nephew Kyle Smith.

We would like to thank Optimal Hospice Care for taking very good care of our mother. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Optimal Hospice Care. Graveside service will be held on Saturday, November 13, 2010 at 10:00 a.m., at Shafter Cemetery18662 Santa Fe Way 93263, under the direction of Peters Funeral Home, Shafter.
