Joe Wayne "J.W." Branch, 69, died on Aug. 24, 2005, in Healdton. Private services will be conducted at a later date.
Born on March 21, 1936, in Ringling, Okla., to Truman Dolphas Branch and Iris Drury, he graduated from Dundee High School in 1954 and retired from Enron in 1991 after 30 years of service. He and Margaret Clark were married on Dec. 24, 1959, in Gainesville, Texas.

J.W. enjoyed everything about the outdoors including cattle, horses and farming. He was an avid reader and attended First Baptist Church in Wilson. Survivors include four sons, Steve Kennedy, Lufkin, Texas, Randy Kennedy, Eureka Springs, Ark., Brad Branch, Longview, Texas, and Rodney Branch, Norman; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.

Bearers will be Tuffy Gunter, Gary Whitener, B.J. Cruzan, Monte Isaacs, Michael Shores and Paul Crisp. Honorary bearers are Mike Dunn, Jack Shores, Charlie Wells, Dundee class of 1954, and Mercy at Home Health Nurses.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight at Spivey's Funeral Home.
