Death came Thursday morning in Iowa City's University hospitals to Mrs. William (Beatrice) Wilson, of Waterloo, formerly of Traer, who died of bulbar polio. She had been admitted there only Wednesday with the dread disease. She was 22. Mrs. Wilson was the stepdaughter of James R. Wilson, now of Waterloo, formerly of Traer. She attended the Traer school and was married December 31, 1949, to William Wilson, a son of the Fred Wilsons, of Webster City. They made their home in Waterloo where he was an employee of the John Deere tractor works. The couple were the parents of two small children.

Funeral services for Mrs. William F. (Beatrice) Wilson, 22, of Waterloo, daughter of James R. and Nina Wilson, of Waterloo, formerly of Traer, whose death of bulbar polio in University hospitals at Iowa City was noted in last week's Star-Clipper, were held at 2 o'clock Monday afternoon at the Lock Funeral Home in Waterloo attended by a number of Traer relatives. The Rev. H F. Dierenfield, pastor of First Presbyterian Church of Waterloo conducted the rites after which the body was brought to Traer for burial in Buckingham cemetery.
The death of Mrs. Wilson was so sudden that t the husband and parents are still stunned by the tragedy. The husband and father were both at the hospital in Iowa City when death came. Her mother was ill in a Waterloo hospital. Earlier that morning the men had talked with the patient in the Iowa City hospital and di not dream that she was near death. Mrs. Wilson was stricken Tuesday afternoon of last week and Wednesday morning was placed on and iron lung and underwent a tracheotomy to facilitate breathing. The paralysis spread rapidly. Two small children are left motherless, a son William Roger, 1 and a daughter Linda Lee, 3.
Mrs. Wilson was born Beatrice Viola Wilson in Waterloo April 1, 1932 and attended the Traer school before her marriage December 31, 1949 to William F. Wilson of Webster City. Mr. Wilson is employed in Waterloo by Rath's and her father at John Deere Co. She is the granddaughter of Wright Wilson, deceased of Traer. Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Lauster of Big stone, South Dakota brother-in-law and sister of James , came for the funeral and are staying for a few days to assist the family. Mrs. Lauster is the former Ruth Wilson of Traer.
