Obituary-Hershner

Hattie Emma Donovan Hershner, daughter of James and Alice Donovan was born near Cedar Rapids, IA., November 18, 1862 and departed this life at the family residence in Mound City, Mo., January 25, 1935, age 72 years 2 months and 7 days.
When four years age, she with her parents moved to Andrew County, Mo., locating near Savannah.
On December 23, 1880, she was united in marriage to Andrew H. Hershner. This happy union was blessed with three children.
Immediately after their marriage Mr. and Mrs. Hershner established their home in the Nichols neighborhood near Oregon, Mo., and lived there until about six years ago when they moved to Mound City to make their home.
Mrs. Hershner gave her life in service to her Saviour, having united with the Christian church at Savannah, Mo., in childhood and thirty-eight years ago transferred her membership to the Evangelical church where she continued a loyal servant of her Lord until her death As a Christian companion and mother her closing hours of consciousness were spent in prayer and testifying to the saving power of Jesus.
She has said goodbye for a season to her sorrowing companion with whom she lived for over fifty years, her two daughters, Mrs. Eva Buntz and Mrs. Allie Stephenson of Mound City, Mo., one son, Ed Hershner, Mound City, Mo., one sister, Mrs. Wm. Wyatt, Bolckow, Mo., one grandson, Bobbie Stephenson, Mound City, Mo., many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were conducted at the Methodist church in Mound City with Rev. D. E. McGregor in charge and assisted by Rev. C. S. Young.
Interment was made in Mt. Hope cemetery at Mound City.
