William J Shibilski, 87, a lifelong resident of Mt. Pleasant, passed away Sunday, Nov. 14, 2010 in the Harmon House, Mt. Pleasant. He was born April 17, 1923, in Mt. Pleasant, a son of the late John and Mary Brush Shibilski. Bill was a graduate of the former Hurst High School with the class of 1940. Prior to his retirement in 1982, he worked for General Motors Fisher Body Plant in West Mifflin. He was a veteran of World War II having served in the Army Air Corps. Bill was formerly a longtime member of the former Transfiguration Roman Catholic Church and is currently a member of Visitation Roman Catholic Church in Mt. Pleasant. Bill loved to golf and especially loved golfing at the Norvelt Golf Club. Bill is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Violet M. Skero Shibilski, whom he married Sept. 15, 1951, in Transfiguration Roman Catholic Church in Mt. Pleasant; his daughters, Joan Krempasky and husband, Robert, of Latrobe, and their children, Kristen, of Latrobe, and Kerry Hudock and her husband, Doug, of Latrobe, Dorothy Kozak and husband, John, of Mt. Pleasant, and their children, Jamie and Stacey, of Van Nuys, Calf.; his brother, Charles Shibilski and wife, Nancy, of Penn Hills; his brothers and sisters-in-law, Ann Visocky and husband, Frank, of North Huntingdon, Mary Kuzar, of Everson, Michael Palko, of Mt. Pleasant, and Walter Skero and wife, Kathryn, of Wyano; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Bill was predeceased by three sisters, Mary Bailey, Elizabeth Forejt and Evelyn Shibilski, all who lived in Mt. Pleasant. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the Harmon House, the Grane Hospice and Dr. Rasheed for all of their kind and wonderful care given to Bill during his illness. Family and friends will be received from 6 to 9 p.m. Monday and 2 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in the BROOKS FUNERAL HOME INC., 406 E. Washington St., Mt. Pleasant, where a blessing service will be held at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday followed by a funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in Visitation Roman Catholic Church. Mt. Pleasant with the Rev. Dennis Bogusz as celebrant. A committal service and interment will follow in the Transfiguration Cemetery. Military rites will be conducted at the cemetery by the Mt. Pleasant American Legion. A wake service will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to be made to a charity of one's choice.
