Rosina arrived in New York on Oct 20, 1898, aboard the Kaiser Friedrich, from Bremen, Germany, together with her parents and 7 siblings, an aunt & uncle, and 8 cousins. Her father was Karl Schutz and her mother was Christina Schnaidt Schutz. The family came from Glueckstal, near Odessa, Russia. Rosina's mother died shortly after they arrived, and her father quickly remarried.
