First burial in this cemetery, one of the earliest cemeteries in the county. Joseph B Kintz, son of John W and Mary Kintz, died the at age of two months in November 1853. This is the earliest marked burial. The Kintz family gave the land for the burial ground and it is still in use today. It sits on a knoll in Section 23 of Clear Creek Township.
A building located near the cemetery, built in the 1850's, was purchased and given to the community to be remodeled into a church. The little country church took its name from the pioneer Kintz family and was known as the Kintz Church. Services were held in this Methodist Church for 25 years. The building then stood idle for a number of years and then used as a Grange Hall in the 1930's. It was then moved into Ira and became a storage building.
