Melba Green Morris, 74, of Ocilla, Georgia died Wednesday, November 10, 2010, at Tift Regional Medical Center.



Funeral services will be held 11 A.M. Saturday, November 13, 2010, at the Ocilla United Methodist Church with Rev. Scott Brenton officiating. Interment will follow in the Ocilla Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7-9 Friday evening at the funeral home in Ocilla.



Mrs. Morris was born March 12, 1936 in Irwin County, Georgia to the late Marion F. and Irene Miriam McMillan Green. She graduated from Irwin County High School in 1956 and moved back in 1962. Mrs. Morris was a former resident of Jacksonville, FL, where she worked for Duval Jewelers and was a former resident of Wilmington, VT. Mrs. Morris was retired owner/operator of Apple House Nursery in Ocilla and helped with the family store, Reedy Creek Store. Mrs. Morris was a member of the Ocilla United Methodist Church.



Mrs. Morris is survived by her husband: Harvey Morris; daughter and son-in-law: Zoe Ann & Greg Lee; son: Joe Davis; granddaughter: Jodie Fletcher; brother and sister-in-law: Marion "Buddy" & Sylvia Green, all of Ocilla and a sister and brother-in-law: Lillian & Marvin Dyal of Jacksonville, FL.
