"WEST YARMOUTH — Mrs. Alice Edna (Wojtkiewicz) Avila, of West Yarmouth, formerly of North Chelmsford, died early Tuesday, Nov. 9, 2010, at Westford House in Westford.

"She was married to the late Mr. John Avila, who died July 10, 1988.

"Born in Tewksbury on Sept. 27, 1928, the daughter of the late John and Victoria L. Wojtkiewicz. She was a graduate of Tewksbury High School with the class of 1945.

"She was employed as a seamstress with the Lowell Dress Company until her retirement in 1979.

"She was a communicant of St. John the Evangelist Church in North Chelmsford and St. Pius X Church in Yarmouth where she was also a member of the Women's Sodality.

"She was a member of Chelmsford Historical Commission and the Garden Club. Mrs. Avila enjoyed reading, gardening, music and politics.

"She was the sister of the late Jane Peterson of South Yarmouth, who died Oct. 14, 2010, the late John Wojtkiewicz of Tewksbury who died in June 2000, the late Stella Hyde of Tewksbury who died in October 2007, and the late Helen Berthiaume of North Chelmsford who died in April 1985.
