Jerry Mannato was born in Brooklyn, NY. He was a high school teacher in Northport for many years and also developed a program for children with reading disabilities. After his retirement he taught in area prayer groups and bible studies. Jerry also enjoyed visiting family in Naples, Italy.

The 1930 census for his parents and siblings show them as living on Vernon Ave in Queens. The family includes his father Edward, mother Anna, as well as two brothers: Anthony and Edward. Both parents were born in Italy.

Mr. Mannato was predeceased by his wife Theresa. He is survived by a son Lawrence from Gorham, New York and a daughter Geralyn Farley from Eldersburg, MD; four grandchildren, twins Meaghan and Colleen Farley, Joshua John and Rachel Mannato; and two brothers, Anthony in Florida and Edward in Arizona.
