Martha Ellen Maggart was born July 4, 1855 and died February 25, 1922, age 66 years, 8 months, and 21 days.
Miss Maggart was united in marriage to Daniel T. Dean July 31, 1870. They moved from Illinois to Knox County, Missouri in 1876. To this union were born nine children, six girls and three boys. Two girls passing on before, Mrs. Bessie Snell and Mrs. Mattie Rogers. W.M.H. Dean lives in Missouri, Mrs. Rosa Blodgett lives near Range, Oklahoma, Mrs. Anne Swan, D.E. Dean and W.E. Dean live near Elkhart, Kansas.
Mrs. Martha Dean was converted at an early age and lived a consistent Christian life for more than thirty years during which time she was a member of the Methodist Church.

She fought the good fight, the Victory won. Her foils are over, the Race is Run.

Funeral services were held at the Baptist Church by Rev. I. Jones of Elkhart. After which the remains were laid to rest in the Elkhart Cemetery.
