Last Rites For Martha Nelson Were Held Here Sunday Afternoon

Funeral services were held for Mrs. Martha Nelson at the Methodist Church Sunday afternoon, December 23, 1951 at 2 o'clock with Rev. Paul J. Johnson officiating. Interment was in the Hillside Cemetery.

The choir, Mrs. J. C. Wilson, Mrs. D. T. Silk, Mrs. Robert Haney and Miss Phillis Wagner sang, "Home of the Soul" and "Abide With Me". Mrs. J. C. Wilson sang a solo, "The Christians Good Night". Miss Kathleen Wilson was pianist.

Pallbearers were: Emil Pedersen, Algie Wibbels, Herman Klein, Wm. Allen, Frank Berney and J. C. Wilson.

Martha Elisa Ray was born February 19, 1881 near Archer, Nebraska and passed away December 14, 1951 at the Hill Crest Sanitarium in Tucson, Arizona where she had been a patient since November 30, 1950, at the age of 70 years, 9 months and 25 days.

On November 28, 1896 she was united in marriage to William Frederick Nelson. Four children were born to this union. She was a faithful member of the Methodist Church and Rebekah Lodge.

She leaves to mourn her passing two sons and one daughter, Archie of Wolbach, John of Broken Bow, and Mrs. Anna Druliner of Tucson, Arizona; one brother, Marion Ray of Boise, Idaho; two sisters, Mrs. Julia Thompson of Council Bluffs, Iowa and Mrs. Edna Stamps of Omaha; ten grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Her husband preceded her in death on May 3, 1941. An infant daughter and one brother also preceded her in death.
