She was born Aug. 14, 1931, in Ravenden to the late Carl and Lola Brown Russell.
She married Duaine Davis on June 25, 1948, in Imboden. She lived in St. Louis for many years before moving to Smithville.
She and Duaine opened Davis Discount Store in 1976. She worked with her husband in the store for 32 years until failing health forced her retirement.
She was a longtime member of the Lynn Church of Christ, served as president of the Lawrence County Republican Party and served for more than 20 years on the Selective Service Board.
Gloria traveled to several foreign countries. Her greatest memories were meeting Pavarotti and the Queen of England. She also greatly enjoyed her tea parties with the Smithville Party Girls.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a daughter, Jennifer; granddaughter, Wendy; great-grandchildren, Adrianna and Baby Shea; and two brothers, Gene and Ed.
She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Duaine Davis of Smithville; three sons and daughters-in-law, James and Barbara Davis of Jacksonville, Tim and Donna Davis of Wynne and Gary and Dena Davis of Smithville; two daughters and sons-in-law, Susanne and Gerald Jones of Cherokee Village and Judy and Mack Allen of Franklin, Tenn.; three sisters, June Luskey and Louise Schlichtemier, both of St. Louis, and Betty Clark of Arizona; brother, Lee Russell of Georgia; 15 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends also survive her.
Interment was in Smithville Cemetery.
