Beth was born in Coalville, Utah to Melvyn and Susannah Hartley Ball, the youngest of eleven children. They have all preceded her in death. She grew up in Coalville, attending North Summit High School, where she played the trombone in the marching band.
She married Richard Dummar, and together they raised three sons: Ron (Naomi), Furel (Karen) and Kent (Amy). They moved to Bellflower, CA, where Beth served in the East Long Beach Stake as the Stake Young Women's President for many years. She owned her own beauty shop in Norwalk, CA. Beth and Dick were divorced, and she married Jim Cooper. Beth and Jim retired to 29 Palms, CA, where Beth was involved in Church and community affairs, helping raise money for the 29 Palms Firehouse. They had a busy social life, enjoying their friends, and loving their families. Beth's main goal in life was to give service to friends, neighbors, and especially her family.
She is survived by her large and loving family which includes 23 grandchildren, 57 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. She loved to make things with her hands, sharing quilts and afghans for each wedding or birth. Beth leaves a legacy of laughter, hard work, service, good cooking, and craft projects. Her pumpkin rolls were famous.
In the last few years, both she and Jim traveled the long road of Alzheimers. Jim passed away in 2008 and Beth spent her remaining years in the Heritage Home in Rexburg, Idaho, where she was lovingly cared for by family and staff.
Funeral Services will be held Monday, Nov. 1, at 1:00 p.m. at the Coalville Stake Center. Friends and family may call at the church from 11:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m.
