Curtis Martin Beecher, age 68, of Escatawpa passed away at home on August 7, 2006. He was born September 14, 1937 in Fresno, CA and lived in many states throughout his life, but for the past 29 years in Jackson County was his home.

He was preceded in death by his father, Cline Martin Beecher; mother, Pearl Hudson; step-father, Woody Hudson.

Curt attended Vancleave High School and was a member of the first football team at Vancleave High School. He enlisted in the Navy when he was 17 years old and served three years on the "Kiddie Cruise". He retired as a Quality Assurance Technician from Ingalls Shipbuilding after 16 years. He was a member of the Pascagoula Elks Lodge 1120. One of his proudest accomplishments with the Elks was receiving a certificate proclaiming him an honorary founder of the Elks National Foundation, Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks of the United States of America for his $1000 donation.

Curt was a friend, confessor and confidant to his children and friends and will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his loving wife, Pamela Beecher; four children, Carlis (Diane) Sullivan; Lee (Fay) Sullivan, Leslie (Kay) Sullivan and Carolyn Dunning. Also survived by 13 grandchildren, Chris, Stephen, Michael and David Sullivan; Stephanie Les, Jennifer, Holley, and Alexis Sullivan; Cody and Christy, Galvan, Olivia Hill, Jessica Dobraska; three great-grandchildren, Haley Phillips, Gregory Dobraska, and Taylor Sullivan; special friend, Bill, Wesley, and Ashley Martin. Numerous other relatives and friends.

The officers of the Pascagoula Elks Lodge# 1120 will do the Elks Memorial Service at his home on Saturday, August 12, 2006 at 10:00am.
