John Amos Short, 76, formerly of Stanley, Va., died at City Hospital, Baltimore, Md., at 10:15 a.m. Tuesday, December 6th.
Mr. Short was the son of the late John R. and Laura V. Painter Short of Stanley.
He had resided in Baltimore for the past 15 years. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Myrtle Blosser Short.
Surviving are five sons, Robert, Walter, Richard and Franklin Short, all of Baltimore, Md., and Ermon Short of Shenandoah; one daughter, Mrs. Bruce (Florine) Kelly of Baltimore; two sisters, Mrs. John (Lillie) Houser and Mrs. Fred (Rosa) Higgs of Stanley; two brothers, Ashby Short of Baltimore, Md., and Edward Short of Stanley.
Twelve grandchildren also survive. Funeral services were conducted from the John G. Connelly Funeral Home Friday, December 9th at 11 a.m. with his pastor, the Rev. J. Vernon Brooks officiating.
Interment was in the Moreland Memorial Park.
